Dientes Community Dental Care Relies on Practice Analytics as a Key Element in their Quality Program

Dientes Community Dental Care has, for over 30 years, worked to ensure that cost, insurance, income, race, language, and transportation do not prevent people from visiting the dentist. They have multiple locations in California, and have treated over 50,000 patients.

A cornerstone of their practice is delivering the highest quality care to those who are uninsured or underinsured. To do that, they needed to be able to easily pull data such as recall, treatment completion, and sealant rates. Executive Vice President of Operations, Dr. Sepi Taghvaei, said, “Before Practice Analytics, we had to do many manual calculations to track our quality metrics. Now, everything is automated. Not only that, but it makes it easy to improve these metrics.”

Dientes uses Practice Analytics to track patient outcomes in real-time. For example, they can track their recall rate and then directly on the dashboard they pull up a list of patients who are due for recall. “Our front office uses this tool every day, and it’s really helped us fill in the schedule,” said Dr. Taghvaei. “It also enables us to see no-show rates in real-time, for each of our clinics, so we can do a better job at affecting change.”

Practice Analytics also provides critical data that aids them in their appeal to funders and in applying for grants, many of whom want data-driven performance metrics.

Finally, Dr. Taghvaei says, “Lastly but perhaps most importantly, I love that the staff at Practice Analytics is engaged, responsive, and eager to help.  They are a pleasure to work with.”
